How it works

  1. Open a space

One for the trip, the wedding or Friday night. Send the invite link to whoever is there.

  2. Shoot in PicShare

Use the camera inside the app. There is nothing to export and nothing to upload later.

  3. It's on everyone's phone

Seconds after you take a photo, it's in the space for the whole group. No signal? It uploads when you're back online.

  4. Keep what you like

Save any photo to your camera roll, at the full resolution it was taken in.

Finally, photos you're actually in.

By the end of the night the space holds every photo anyone took, from every phone, at full resolution. No group chat full of compressed copies, and nobody asking around for them the next day. Everyone can like and comment on every photo too, so the jokes stay with the picture instead of scrolling away in the group chat.

Questions

How is PicShare different from a Google Photos or iCloud shared album?

A shared album only works if everyone remembers to add their photos afterwards, and most people don't. In PicShare the camera is the album: a photo is in the space the moment it's taken, so nobody has to collect anything.

What can I use it for?

Anything where several people are taking photos of the same thing: trips, weddings, birthdays, bachelor and bachelorette parties, family holidays, a night out. One space per event.

Does everyone need to download the app?

Yes. Anyone who wants to take or see photos in a space needs PicShare on their phone. Joining a space takes one link.

Does it work between iPhone and Android?

Yes. A space can mix iPhones and Android phones, and everyone sees the same photos.

Are photos full quality, or compressed like WhatsApp?

Full quality. Photos are kept at the resolution they were taken in, and anyone in the space can save any of them to their own camera roll at that resolution.

Is PicShare free?

Yes. PicShare is free to download and use on iPhone and Android.

Who can see the photos in a space?

Only the people in it. Spaces are invite only, and an admin of the space approves each request to join.

Can people like and comment on photos?

Yes. Anyone in the space can like any photo, comment on it, reply to other comments and @mention people. Whoever took the photo gets a notification, and only the people in the space can see any of it.

What if there's no signal, like abroad?

Keep shooting. Photos wait on your phone and upload on their own when you're back online. If roaming data is expensive, you can set PicShare to upload over Wi-Fi only.

Can I add photos I took with my regular camera?

Yes. Besides the PicShare camera, you can add photos from your phone's gallery to any space you're in.

How do I invite people to a space?

Share the space's invite link. Whoever opens it can ask to join, and an admin of the space lets them in.

No more “send me the photos from yesterday.”
