PicShare is a private photo- and video-sharing app for shared albums (“spaces”), operated by Assaf Yeredor and Omri Rainman. This page explains how to delete your PicShare account, what deleting it removes, and what is kept.
There are two ways to do it, and both delete exactly the same things. If you still have the app, delete from inside it. If you no longer have the app, or cannot sign in, use the form below: we email a verification code to the address on your account, and entering it deletes the account from this page. You do not need to install anything, and we never ask for your password.
Delete from inside the app
- Open the PicShare app and sign in to the account you want to delete.
- Go to the Profile tab and tap the gear icon in the top corner to open Settings.
- Under Account, tap Account.
- Under Danger zone, tap Delete Account.
- Type your username to confirm, then tap Delete Account.
Your account is deleted immediately and you are signed out. It normally finishes in a few seconds.
Delete your account without the app
Enter the email address on your PicShare account. We will email it a verification code, and nothing is deleted until you enter that code below.
Check your email. If has a PicShare account, we have sent it an 8-digit verification code. Enter it here to delete the account.
Your account has been deleted.
Your PicShare account and the data listed below have been erased. This cannot be undone.
If the app is still installed on a device, signing out is all that is left to do — the account behind it no longer exists.
If you no longer have access to that email address either, email support@picshare.app and we will verify your account another way and delete it for you.
Deleting the app does not delete your account. Removing PicShare from your phone leaves your account, your spaces, and your photos exactly as they were. Use one of the two options above.
What happens when you delete your account
Both options run the same deletion — literally the same operation on our servers. The only difference is how you prove the account is yours: by being signed in to it, or by receiving an email at its address.
- From the app — deletion runs the moment you confirm, and normally finishes within seconds.
- From this page — asking for a code deletes nothing. Your account is deleted when you enter that code and press the delete button, and it then runs within seconds. If you never enter the code, nothing is deleted and the code stops working after 1 hour.
Once it runs, deletion is permanent. There is no grace period, no recovery window, and no way for us to restore a deleted account, its spaces, or its photos afterwards. Signing up again with the same email address creates a new, empty account.
Everything listed under What is deleted below is removed as part of that single operation. Everything listed under What is kept is not — read both before you delete.
What is deleted
- Your login. Your email address, your password, and any Apple or Google sign-in linked to the account.
- Your profile. Your display name, username, and avatar — including the avatar image files in our storage.
- Your space memberships. You are removed from every space you belong to.
- Spaces where you were the last member. The space is deleted outright, along with every photo and clip in it, its cover image, and all of their stored files.
- Your comments, replies, and likes on photos and on comments, wherever you left them.
- Your friends and friend requests, in both directions, and everyone you have blocked.
- Your invitations and join requests — invitations you sent or received, and requests you filed to join a space.
- Your notifications and notification settings, including notifications you triggered for other people, and your push notification tokens.
- Your upload records — the per-upload storage accounting we keep to enforce upload limits.
- Reports you filed, and reports filed about you.
- Your sign-in sessions, including the one created when you verify a code on this page, and any unused verification code.
What is kept
Some things survive the deletion. We would rather be exact about them than imply a clean sweep.
- Photos and clips you uploaded to spaces that still have other members. These stay in those spaces, for the people you shared them with. The link between them and your profile is removed, so they are no longer attributed to you, but the files themselves are kept and we cannot say for how long — see Content Storage and Deletion in our Terms of Service. If you want that content gone, delete it in the app before you delete your account.
- Spaces you created that still have other members. The space itself remains for them. Its admin role passes automatically to the member who has been in it the longest; you cannot choose who.
- Copies other people already have. Anything members saved to their own camera roll, or that their app has cached for offline viewing, is on their devices and outside our control.
- Copies in our providers’ operational backups, logs, and caches. These persist for a limited period until they are overwritten or expire in the normal course of our providers’ operations. We do not use them to restore a deleted account, and no fixed period is published for them; if you need to know more about a particular provider, contact us.
- Analytics and crash reports. These record events such as “an upload failed” against an internal account identifier — never your name, email address, photos, or messages. They are held by PostHog and Sentry under their own retention settings, and are not deleted with your account.
- Internal operational alerts already sent. We receive an alert in a private channel when an account is created, a space is made or joined, a space gets its first photo, or a report is filed, and a daily summary of upload activity per space. Those messages contain display names, usernames, space titles, and upload counts and storage totals, never email addresses or content, and are not retrieved when an account is deleted.
- Anything the law requires us to keep, for as long as it requires it — for example in connection with a lawful request from an authority or a legal claim.
Before you delete
- Save what you want to keep. Photos and clips in your spaces can be saved to your camera roll at full resolution from inside the app. Once your last space is gone, they are gone.
- Delete your own uploads first from any space that has other members, if you do not want that content to stay behind.
- You do not need to hand over the spaces you administer — the admin role moves on its own.
